According to Svenska Dagbladet, article available here, that is referring to a study made by researchers at the universities of Stanford, Berkeley and Princeton, we are experiencing a mass extinction on earth.

Through over-exploitation, climate changes, restrictions on wildlife habitat among others humans are creating an environment in which many species are struggling to survive in.

In fact the extinction of species is happening 114 times faster than what is normal and this might actually result in us humans not being long-lived on this planet.

"If this is allowed to continue, it will take many millions of years for life on Earth to recover and even humans will probably die out at a early stage" says lead author of the study, Professor Gerardo Ceballos.

It is possible to turn the trend around but this chance diminishes for each year the pattern continues.
